Modern Nurtures is a maternal and infant health occupational therapy practice providing services from preconception and beyond.

Contrary to popular belief, you can prepare for motherhood and tackle matrescence through a better relationship with your body and mind.

New Mama or seasoned Mama you deserve to be supported.

Hello,

My name is Melissa Arciniega and I am a mother, wife, and occupational therapist with a passion for maternal and infant health.

My mission is to change the way women are supported during their matrescence by providing care in areas women and research report needs in.

While learning how to take care of a baby is important, equally important is having a basic understanding of and tools for how to navigate the physical, hormonal, emotional, social, cultural, and spiritual changes that occur inside and outside a woman’s body prior to, during, and after pregnancy.

The Modern Nurtures approach to maternal health is based on two core beliefs. One, the belief that women matter and two, the extensive research supporting the positive correlation between maternal and infant health outcomes.

It is time to say goodbye to the old ways of dismissing women’s health during one of the most vulnerable times of her life and give a warm welcome to the modern way of nurturing both mother and baby.

Let me be part of your village.
